Malayalees in Central Ohio have a history of over 60 years. After many years of functioning as an
informal volunteer organization, the Central Ohio Malayalee Association (COMA) was formally
registered as a "not for profit" organization in October 2007.
COMA is the epitome of a long cherished aspiration of the Malayalees of Central Ohio, to promote
the social, cultural, educational, literary, and artistic heritage of our venerable state of Kerala, India.
Specific purposes for which the organization has been formed include:
- Provide a forum to promote and preserve social and cultural integration of Malayalees in
Central Ohio
- Promote friendship and cultural exchange with similar organizations in USA
- Promote the enrichment of life and social welfare of local community in general and
Malayalees in particular
