It gives me great pleasure to welcome the members of the Central Ohio Malayalee Association, their families, and guests to tonight’s dance drama performance by the eminent actress Shobana and her team.

The Central Ohio Malayalee Association was inaugurated in 2007 with a vision to promote the cultural integration and social welfare of the local community in general and Malayalees in particular. Ever since its inception, the association has thrived on the support of loyal volunteers. The focus for the year of 2015 is giving back to the community and the launch of the Youth Wing of COMA. We as a team adopted a mantra, “A Committee for the Community”, and have been doing numerous community service activities. And there has been tremendous support from our members.

The 2015 Executive Committee is proud to bring the distinguished actress and dancer Shobana and her team of highly talented performing artists to Central Ohio to present the dance drama “Krishna”. As part of COMA’s commitment to giving back to the community, a part of the profit from this event goes to the “Wounded Warrior Project”. One of the main highlights of this event is that we were able to extend our invitation to other Indian American organizations. The event committee and their families have spent countless number of hours of hard work and commitment in making this event a great success. I feel fortunate to be part of this great team of volunteers. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I am forever grateful.

My heart felt gratitude goes to all our sponsors who helped in making this event a reality. Your generous contribution will help in making a great difference to our community. And to my fellow volunteers, THANK YOU!! Without your support none of this would have been possible. I also would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dublin Jerome High School and their staff for all their support.

On behalf of the Central Ohio Malayalee Association and myself, I welcome Shobana and her team to Columbus, the heart of The Buckeye State. I am sure this is going to be a memorable event in COMA’s history.
